How does the Back Up Assistant work in my 2026 BMW iX?

The Back Up Assistant in your 2026 BMW iX supports you when reversing in tight or confusing parking or road situations. Your BMW iX saves the driving movements of the last route and drives the saved route with automated steering. You must continue to control the speed yourself using the accelerator pedal and the brake. Please note: The Back Up Assistant saves distances of up to 164 feet. In conjunction with the "Parking Assistant Professional", the Back Up Assistant in your BMW iX with BMW Operating System 8.5 can handle steering movements over a distance of 656 feet. To save the route, you must drive forward at a maximum speed of 22 mph without stopping. The Back Up Assistant cannot be activated when towing a trailer.
