What are the benefits of the Setup Card for the BMW Digital Key for my 2026 BMW iX?

Your 2026 BMW iX comes with a Setup Card for setting up the main key for the BMW Digital Key via the "near field communication" (NFC) mobile standard. To start the setup, hold the Setup Card to your smartphone or scan the QR code on the rear of the Setup Card with your smartphone. Please note: For security reasons, keep the Setup Card in a safe place outside your vehicle after the setup of the main key for the BMW Digital Key. You only need the Setup Card to set up the main key for the BMW Digital Key, which you can then share with other people in the Wallet app on your smartphone.
