How do I activate the Service Card for the BMW Digital Key for my 2026 BMW iX?

The Service Card for your BMW Digital Key is already linked to your vehicle when it is delivered, but it is deactivated. To activate it, you need your smartphone with a BMW Digital Key or a physical key in the interior. To activate the Service Card, place the Service Card in the smartphone tray of your BMW and follow the instructions on the control display. Alternatively, select the vehicle app "Digital Key" > "Service Card" > "Activate Service Card" in BMW iDrive. You can deactivate it in the same menu or on the control display after unlocking your BMW with the BMW Digital Key or the physical key.

 

Please note: Only activate the Service Card when required and then deactivate it again. Keeping a deactivated Service Card in the vehicle is safe. An activated Service Card unlocks and starts your vehicle, so for security reasons you should keep it in a safe place outside your vehicle.
