To remove your BMW ID in the vehicle, select the profile icon or your profile picture in the status field and follow the steps below - depending on the BMW Operating System used in the vehicle.
BMW Operating System 9 and BMW Operating System X
- Open the “BMW ID” app.
- Select “Settings” (gear icon).
- Tap on "Manage profiles".
- Select the recycle bin icon next to your BMW ID.
BMW Operating System 8 and BMW Operating System 8.5
- Open the “BMW ID” app.
- Select "Change BMW ID" or "Manage BMW IDs".
- Select the recycle bin icon next to your BMW ID.
BMW Operating System 7:
- Select “Car”.
- Open “Driver Profiles”.
- Select “Settings”.
- Select “Remove Driver Profile”.
- Tap the recycle bin icon next to your BMW ID.
Please note: If you wish to delete all data stored in the vehicle, please perform a factory reset. If your BMW ID is removed, the vehicle is automatically deleted from the My BMW App and the My BMW Portal. Only the primary user can designate a secondary user as the new primary user. If the primary user deletes their BMW ID, the vehicle resets itself to factory settings and removes all linked BMW IDs from the app and portal.
As of iDrive 7.0, one primary user and several secondary users can log into the vehicle with their BMW IDs, depending on the model and equipment. The first registered user is automatically set as the primary user. All other users are secondary users with limited rights. BMW vehicles with iDrive ID6 do not support the multi-user function. Only one BMW ID can be used per vehicle.
