How can I activate or deactivate the vehicle tracking of my vehicle with BMW iDrive Operating System 7?

To activate or deactivate the vehicle tracking (GPS tracking) of your BMW with BMW Operating System 7, select the following in the iDrive menu:

 

  • "CAR"
  • "Settings"
  • "General Settings"
  • "Data Privacy"
  • You will see the "BMW ConnectedDrive" menu on the right side.  From the list of services, choose "My BMW App and My BMW portal".
    • To activate, check the box. 
    • To deactivate, uncheck the box.  A popup message will appear that states "Service deactivated: Vehicle status and current location will not be transferred to BMW and will not be displayed in My BMW App or in the My BMW Portal" 
      • Click "OK" to confirm.

 

Please note:  If the vehicle tracking is deactivated, the vehicle will not be displayed in the My BMW App.
