How does voice command work in my BMW?

Voice control in your BMW is activated by pressing the microphone button on the right side of the steering wheel. With BMW ConnectedDrive, voice commands are processed using artificial intelligence in the cloud. This intelligent voice assistant learns your personal vehicle settings and automatically activates them, simplifying vehicle operation by automating processes and habits. The assistant understands natural language, so you don't need to use predefined commands. To activate Siri on your connected iPhone, press and hold the voice input button on the steering wheel for about 3 seconds. Additionally, since the introduction of BMW iDrive Operating System 7, you can activate voice input by saying "Hello BMW."
