What is M Launch Control in the 2024 BMW i7 M70 xDrive?

For maximum dynamics when sprinting from a standing start, the "M Launch Control" function is available in your 2024 BMW i7 M70 xDrive. After activation, you can perform a traction-optimized acceleration maneuver with the accelerator pedal fully depressed. The maximum system power and maximum torque available are released immediately at the start, while the control of the suspension control systems is precisely matched to the extreme power delivery.

 

Perform the following to activate the Sport Boost function:

  1. Turn on drive-ready state.
  2. Activate drive mode: "SPORT".
  3. Enabling the driving dynamics setting: "SPORT PLUS".
  4. With the left foot, press down forcefully on the brake.
  5. Engage forward gear.
  6. Press the accelerator pedal all the way down and hold. The Launch Control information is displayed in the instrument cluster and the vehicle begins to vibrate.
  7. Release the brake within a few seconds of the Launch Control information illuminating. The vehicle accelerates.

Launch Control stays on as long as the Launch Control information is displayed and the accelerator pedal is not released.
