What is special about the Free-Cut Design of the central display in the fully electric BMW i3 Sedan, available in the US starting 2027?

In the BMW i3, the Free-Cut Design of the central display measures 17.9 inches and features matrix backlight technology with a resolution of 3340 x 1440 pixels. Functions and menus are selected by horizontal or vertical swipe movements using configurable QuickSelect widgets.

In the center of the central display you will find the BMW Maps view or other configurable displays. The menu bar with temperature settings for the driver and front passenger is located at the bottom screen edge, and quick access to the frequently used menus is in the center. Swiping from top to bottom will show you your individual shortcuts.
