How do I control the charging and discharging process for bidirectional charging with my BMW electric vehicle?

Bidirectional charging with my BMW electric vehicle and the BMW Wallbox Professional can be controlled via the vehicle and the My BMW App. You can select the Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) function in the app.

 

Depending on your needs, you can set a minimum state of charge in the vehicle or the app to ensure your mobility requirements. Up to this point, your BMW electric vehicle is immediately charged at maximum speed to cover daily trips or emergencies, for example. In addition, the high-voltage battery is used for bidirectional charging and, depending on the application, is both charged and discharged.

 

For V2L functionality, it is basic plug and play, while the vehicle handles the discharging and charging process in the background depending on which discharging adapter you are using for the Multi-Function Charger.
