The "M Hybrid" button in the center console of your 2025 BMW M5 Sedan or 2025 BMW M5 Touring lets you choose between the three drive modes "HYBRID", "ELECTRIC" and "eCONTROL".
In "HYBRID" mode, the vehicle is powered by an intelligent combination of combustion engine and electric motor.
In "ELECTRIC" mode, your BMW M5 drives fully electrically - provided the high-voltage battery is sufficiently charged. In certain situations, e.g., kickdown, the combustion engine will start.
In "eCONTROL" mode, the drive is conditioned for maximum driving performance; this includes the temperature of the combustion engine and high-voltage battery as well as its state of charge (state of charge at approx. 80%).
With the option "M Drive Professional", you also get the "DYNAMIC" and "DYNAMIC PLUS" modes used for driving on a race track while in "HYBRID" Mode.
