With the option "M Drive Professional", your 2025 BMW M5 Sedan or 2025 BMW M5 Touring has the "Boost Control" acceleration aid. This function temporarily enables maximum acceleration at 30 mph. Prepare the function by pulling and holding the left-hand shift paddle labeled "BOOST". In the instrument cluster, you will see a progress bar for the temporary availability. During the preparation phase, the powertrain is preloaded and the optimum gear is engaged. The acceleration is started from the preparation phase by depressing the accelerator pedal beyond a certain accelerator pedal position. The maximum possible acceleration starts without delay with a sharp jolt.
Perform the following to use the Boost Control function:
- Pull and hold the left shift paddle until BOOST is displayed. The function is active.
A countdown is displayed as a bar in the instrument cluster.
- Before the countdown has finished, depress the accelerator pedal. BOOST is displayed on the instrument cluster.
Please Note: The function is automatically interrupted if the countdown has finished or if the function was used in the acceleration process. Once this function has been stopped, it can only be restarted after waiting 30 seconds.
To restart the countdown, pull and hold the left shift paddle again until the countdown is reset.
