What is the engine variant of the 2025 BMW M3 Sedan?

The M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine in the 2025 BMW M3 Sedan is characterized by maximum power delivery, a rich M sound, and an output of up to 473 hp. The M3 Competition model sends 503 hp to the rear wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. 

For 2025, the engine under the hood of the new BMW M3 Competition Sedan with M xDrive has been optimized, developing an extra 20 hp. The straight-six engine now generates 523 hp at 6,250 rpm. The mono-scroll turbocharger, direct "high precision injection," fully variable valve timing, and variable camshaft timing control ensure its outstanding performance.
