How do I set the distance to the vehicle in front using Distance Control in my vehicle with BMW Operating System 8 and newer?

Distance Control in your BMW with BMW Operating System 8 and newer allows you to set a distance to a vehicle in front in addition to Cruise Control. The system adjusts the speed of your BMW so that a set distance is maintained. When driving freely, the system maintains the set speed you have selected. 

 

Depending on which BMW Operating System your vehicle has, perform the following on the iDrive screen to automatically adapt distance control:
