What features does BMW Operating System 8.5 offer in the 2024 BMW 5 Series Sedan?

The new BMW Operating System 8.5 features:

  • The start screen permanently displays the navigation map or other customizable views.
  • Vertically arranged widgets on the driver's side of the Control Display can be switched between by swiping vertically, while horizontal swiping within some widgets allows access to different content.
  • QuickSelect provides direct access to functions without navigating submenus, and tapping the Home symbol returns to the start screen.
  • Additional shortcuts are available for climate control, apps, navigation, media, communication, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

The BMW 5 Series with BMW Operating System 8.5 also offers:

  • Expanded digital content, faster function updates, and improved information on EV charging.
  • Optimized access to online services, video streaming, and an innovative in-car gaming experience with AirConsole.
