Which BMW Operating System does the 2024 BMW 5 Series and the 2024 BMW i5 have?

The 2024 BMW 5 Series and the 2024 BMW i5 are equipped with BMW iDrive with BMW Operating System 8.5. The BMW Curved Display serves as an action surface for the multisensory experience via BMW iDrive. The entry screen on the control display of the BMW Curved Display has a permanently visible user interface. As an alternative to the map view of the navigation system, My Modes and Android Auto or Apple CarPlay (if activated) can also be permanently displayed in fullscreen mode on the control display. All relevant functions and information are displayed on one level. This makes it possible to go to a desired function without first switching to a submenu. Instead, vertically arranged function symbols, so-called live widgets, that can be selected with a swipe and also individually configured, are available on the driver's side of the control interface. With the "QuickSelect" quick link, a direct selection of entertainment programs, contact lists and vehicle settings as well as interaction with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is possible by touch. After the settings have been made, a tap on the Home icon at the bottom of the display is sufficient to return to the entry screen. In addition to the home icon, you can now also find the icons for direct access to the climate menu, All Apps menu, navigation, media, telephone service and Apple CarPlay™ / Android Auto™ (if activated). The "Personal eSIM" ensures 5G connectivity. With "BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades" and "BMW Remote Software Upgrades", help the 2024 BMW 5 Series or 2024 BMW i5 remain up to date.
