Why is BMW taking over the ALPINA brand?

The BMW Group and ALPINA Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH + Co KG have enjoyed a close partnership for several decades. From January 1, 2026, the Alpina brand will be transferred to the BMW Group with the aim of expanding the portfolio in the top-end segment with future BMW ALPINA vehicles.
